Ethan Frisch

BIO

Ethan Frisch is a chef, entrepreneur, native New Yorker, and the cofounder of Burlap & Barrel, the first comprehensive single origin spice company in the United States. He has worked in restaurant kitchens in New York City and London and was the Executive Chef and cofounder of Guerrilla Ice Cream, an activist ice cream cart. He has also worked as a humanitarian aid worker around the world, including with Doctors Without Borders on the Syrian/Jordanian border and the Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan, where he managed the construction of schools in the remote northeast of the country. 
He has been an adjunct lecturer at the City College of New York and an instructor with the Experiment in International Living's Leadership Institute. He is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the Bond Street Theatre, the Chef's Council of Emma's Torch, and on the Advisory Boards of the racial literacy organization CHOOSE, and Fragments Theater, a youth theater company in Palestine. He is also the cohost of the podcast Why Food? on Heritage Radio Network.
