Where is ICE located?
ICE is located at Brookfield Place – 225 Liberty Street, New York, NY 10281, on the 3rd floor. Upon arrival to 225 Liberty Street, proceed to the security desk on the 2nd floor located next to Hudson Eats to check in.

How late is too late to arrive to class?
As the lecture and class overview happen at the beginning of each class, it is very important to start all classes on time. Losing the first few minutes can make a big difference in the class being successful or stressful for a student.
The Chef-Instructor has the right to refuse the entry of any late students; generally any student arriving more than 15-20 minutes late for class will not be allowed to stay.

What are your refund and cancellation policies?
Full payment of class upon registration is required.
Payment & Refund Policies & Make-Up Policies
To register for any class, payment in full is required at the time of registration. Two weeks withdrawal notice is required for a refund (excluding gift certificates); but please note a transaction fee will be deducted from the refund for each and every class seat registration that is canceled by the registrant/student based on the following scale: classes up to $125 will incur a $20 fee, classes in the $126-$350 range will have a $30 fee, classes valued over $351 will incur a $50 fee. When a class is dropped three to 13 days prior to the start date, only school class credit will be issued, and the corresponding transaction fee will be deducted (see above). Rescheduling a class still entails a cancellation and, therefore, a transaction fee will still be charged to customers. There are no refunds or school credit issued when fewer than 48 hours notice from the class start date is given. Students must attend the first class in a series. Students may make up missed classes in any Techniques series or Wine Essentials course without charge after attending the first lesson. Techniques make-up classes are available on a limited basis and must be arranged with ICE’s Customer Service Manager. All make-up classes are subject to availability. Missed make-up classes cannot be rescheduled. Gift certificates are not refundable, but may be transferred to another person.

The Institute of Culinary Education reserves the right to cancel any class that fails to attract sufficient enrollment. In case of cancellation, all students will be notified and a full refund will be given. Students traveling to ICE from outside the New York metropolitan area should confirm their class registration(s) before finalizing travel arrangements. In order to minimize class interruptions, ICE maintains the right to deny student registration and/or entrance if more than 10 minutes late.
What are the closest subways/trains?
ICE is accessible via numerous transit lines. You can take the 1,2,3 line to Chambers Street, the A, C, 4, 5, J, or Z trains to Fulton Street, the R train to Cortlandt Street, or the E train to the World Trade Center. We are also accessible through the PATH train system, as well as three ferries.

Is wine or beer served during class? Can I bring my own?
Alcohol is served in some classes. Wine is served only after cooking. Bringing your own alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
ICE provides everything you need for your class from aprons to knives and recipes. Students will get to keep the recipe packet you receive in class. In the event that you misplace your packet, email customer service at rec@ice.edu to receive a digital version.
Can we take the food home?
Absolutely — students are encouraged to take their work home should there be any leftovers.
Does ICE offer private classes?
At ICE, we host over 200 culinary events each year, serving more than 5,000 guests. We offer evening cooking classes that are perfect for corporate entertaining, corporate team building and closing dinners, or for personal celebrations such as birthdays or special reunions. Combining the best elements of a cocktail party, a cooking class and an informal banquet, ICE cooking parties and group cooking events are an easy, seamless option when you want to celebrate with and entertain a group. What should I wear for class?
As you’ll be standing for the majority of the time, we recommend loose or comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Long hair should be pulled back.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones must be in vibrate mode at all times while class is in session. While we request that you do not talk on your phone, you may do so if necessary in the hallway, outside of your classroom or kitchen. We encourage you to take photos and share on our social channels, tagging @iceculinary.
Are there any substitutions if I am a vegetarian, gluten-free or have allergies?
We recommend you take one of our vegetarian or gluten-free classes.
