BIO

With an art and advertising background, Chef Margot eventually found her culinary voice during her travels to Italy. She decided to make a career change and went to ICE in 1996, doing her externship for Mario Batali at Po Restaurant in Greenwich Village. Her next stop was at the Elms Restaurant and Tavern, in Ridgefield, CT, working for Brendan Walsh. Chef Margot moved on to work for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as the Commissary Chef, where she cooked for staff, crew, Martha, and VIP’s such as President Clinton. Often she traveled with Ms. Stewart to her various homes to cook for guests. During her time there, Margot was cast as on-air talent on the MSO produced PBS cooking show, Everyday Food, which she did for 5 seasons. Margot also appeared on the Martha show numerous times. Margot has built, owned and operated two businesses, the first was the SoNo Baking Company and Café followed by Margot Café & Wine Bar, both of which were in Connecticut. She has also worked as a private chef and caterer for numerous high-end clients. In 2010, Margot discovered her passion for being an educator, when she started teaching at Star Career Academy of New York. In 2014 she became the Department Chairperson of the Culinary and Hospitality programs. In 2017, Margot joined the Student Affairs department at ICE.
