Learn all about the world of craft beers, from tasting and pairing to brewing methods, language, and more! Zach Mack, the owner of Alphabet City Beer Co., a craft beer store and bar in the East Village, will start with a discussion of different beer styles across the spectrum---bitter IPAs, sour goses, Berliner weisses, peppery saisons, toasty stouts, and much more. After a brief style history and an overview of the vernacular to describe them, we'll move on to food-pairing suggestions and samplings. Finally, we'll have a Q&A session to answer everything you always wanted to know about the world of craft beer drinking, brewing, and industry!

Students are encouraged to bring a light lunch or dinner to all pastry classes.
