Before joining ICE as chef-instructor, James Briscione spent several years as chef de cuisine at Frank Stitt's acclaimed Highlands Bar and Grill in Birmingham, AL, and was a sous chef at Restaurant Daniel. In spring 2009, he won the episode of Food Network's Chopped in which he competed. His wife, Brooke Parkhurst, is the author of Belle in the Big Apple and the blog of the same name. She is the former host of ABC's digital cable food series, Eat & Greet. She has been featured on the BBC, Donny Deutsch, and in the New York Times, New York Daily News, and New York Post. Together, Briscione and Parkhurst author a cooking column for MyScoop Media, and recently completed their first cookbook, Just Married and Cooking (Scribner, 2011).
