Little Italy Walking Tour
The tour in Little Italy begins with a traditional Italian breakfast of mini pastries (pasticciotto, sfogliatelle) and caffè at Ferrara Bakery and Café, as Italian immigrants did at this same location beginning in 1892. Following the breakfast, we'll explore Manhattan's Little Italy on a walking and tasting tour of the neighborhood led by culinary tour guide Liz Young, including visits to the longstanding cheese and sausage stores, along with the cigar shops and an Italian homegoods store. We?ll enjoy coal-oven pizza at Lombardi's Pizza, a Napoletana standard in the area since 1897 and finish with a trip to the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. The class meets at 11 AM at Ferrara Bakery and Café (195 Grand Street).
