Little Italy Walking Tour
Your fascinating and delectable tour of Little Italy begins with a traditional Italian breakfast of mini pastries (pasticciotto, sfogliatelle) and caffè at Ferrara Bakery and Café, as Italian immigrants did at this same location beginning in 1892. Following breakfast, we'll explore Manhattan's Little Italy on a walking and tasting tour of the neighborhood led by culinary tour guide Liz Young, including visits to the longstanding cheese and sausage stores, along with the cigar shops and an Italian home-goods store. We'll enjoy coal-oven pizza at Lombardi's Pizza, a Napoletana standard in the area since 1897, and finish with a trip to the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. The class meets at 10am at Ferrara Bakery & Café (195 Grand St.).
